The TecLab team modified a GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card by replacing the fragile 12VHPWR connector with classic eight-pin cables soldered directly to the board.

During heavy overclocking tests, the graphics card handled extreme loads of up to 1063 W using only two eight-pin cables. The connector temperature stayed below 48°C, proving massive electrical headroom.

The factory 12VHPWR connector is limited to 600 W and often melts due to poor design. Using standard eight-pin power connectors completely eliminates overheating and burning issues..."
